Arcadian Dreams

Spring, so far, hasn't gone as planned. I had expected the joy of longer days and the first flowers to be my main focus by now, but instead the world has taken a very sad turn and all our attention is on the tragedy unfolding in Eastern Europe. But even so... it is still spring, and there are many reasons why we need to honour the beauty of spring, even now, and I would say: especially now!

How fitting that in this month's issue of Homes & Antiques I was asked to write about the rustic porcelain figures that were made in the late 18th Century. Here in Britain they were made mostly by Bow, Chelsea and Derby, and you can read more in the magazine about the background of these wonderful figures.

These little beauties are easy to dismiss as "kitsch", but I dare you to look a bit closer... and in the article I explain why their innocent faces, tender eyes and graceful postures contain an Arcadian dream that is alive in all of us - and we can certainly do with that right now!

So if you want to know more, head to Homes & Antiques, and see below the special offer you can get. It is a wonderful magazine and you will be able to catch my monthly column about British porcelain.

Homes & Antiques Offer

If you want to follow my monthly column in Homes & Antiques you can get a discounted subscription and order a free copy here. The free issue contains an interview with myself and several other collectors. The magazine is delivered all over the world but you can also get a digital subscription.

Where to find things

You can find all my decorative items here, and all my available stock can be found here. If you always want to see the latest additions, follow me on Instagram... I post pictures and a story every single day.

And in the meantime...

Please give to Ukraine! 🇺🇦 A massive refugee crisis is emerging in Eastern Europe as millions of women and children are pouring out of Ukraine every hour of the day and night. Your gift will help relieve some of the suffering. The most effective thing you can do is to give to one of the large organisations such as the Red Cross, the IRC, Save the Children, Médecins Sans Frontières... they will make your money count where and when it is needed most.

Wish List ❤️

Don't forget, you can now create your own profile on the site and keep a wish list. Click on the Log In icon at the top right of each page.

Happy weekend, and please give generously! 💛🇺🇦💙
