The Artist and his Rose

(and forget-me-nots!). I have been going through a big collection of Coalport plates that I acquired a while ago. It has been such a joy of discovery and I keep finding interesting plates in styles I didn't know, or painters I had only heard of but whose items I had never held in my own hands. The other day I found two plates that are very similar; they both have a beautiful painting of a rose in the centre, one with forget-me-nots in the background, the other with bluebells. I realised that just one before that, I had bought a teacup made by an unknown factory with a rose and forget-me-nots just like that, and when I checked, the rim of the cup was almost the same as that on one of the plat

Harping on about Belleek!

Did you think I am harping on about Belleek? Well yes, I am! Because today I have this wonderful "Harp" tea service. Belleek porcelain is very special - it is different from British or European porcelain. It is super-thin, has this very special sound, and it is often called "egg shell porcelain" because it looks and feels like egg shells (but luckily is a lot stronger). In this video I am telling you more about why this is such special porcelain... and when you watch, please SUBSCRIBE and press the LIKE button (if you like it, of course! 👍🏻). You can find this wonderful set in my shop, as well as several other rare Belleek items - and there is more to come in the next few weeks and months.

Drinking tea from a sea shell..?!

I am pleased to offer a new Belleek cabaret set this week! I am always looking for cabaret sets, and as they are hard to find I often have to hunt down all the different elements to put together one. This time I have a beautiful cream-coloured tea and coffee service called "Tridacna". The tridacna is a salt water clam that is common along the coast of Ireland, and this whole set has the surface of this famous sea shell. You can find out more in my video... and when you watch, please SUBSCRIBE and press the LIKE button (if you like it, of course! 👍🏻). You can find this wonderful set in my shop, as well as several other rare Belleek items, which I will write more about soon! this week's new
